Common Shrinkage Values

Shrinkage
A reduction in size of a plastic that occurs during a processing when a material goes from molten state to solid upon cooling and solidification. A certain amount of shrinkage is inevitable in any process that involves cooling of plastic from elevated temperature.

Note: Shrink rates can vary based on material, processing, part geometry, etc. Shrinkage may vary in the direction of flow versus transverse direction (anisotropic shrinkage). Refer to manufacturer guidelines for resin grade specific value.
