Venting

Venting - Shallow channel in a mold which allows air, gas, or volatile to exit as the melt enters the cavity. Adequate venting is important to insure complete evacuation of melt gases and entrapped cavity air. Techniques commonly used are "Conventional Parting Line Vent" and "Continuous Venting".
